They are back and this gig is not to be missed! A band that brings together the music of two contemporary rock giants are playing at The Bungalow on Friday night, 20 June.
Them & Us is a stunning 9-piece ensemble, lovingly recreating the legendary music of Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac. You can get tickets on the door from 7.00pm.
If you are a lover of Big Band, Jazz or Swing then get to The Bungalow on Saturday afternoon, 21 June, and sit back to enjoy The Bobby Deans Big Band fronted by the very cool King of Smooth, John Griffin. It is a free entry gig and doors are 1.00pm.
Formed in 2004 in Glasgow, Spiders on Mars is a six-piece band of musicians who are bonded by a love for the music of the 20th Century’s greatest musical icon. They play music from every era of David Bowie’s career. From The Man Who Sold the World and Space Oddity through the Ziggy years and onto The Thin White Duke. From the blue-eyed soul of Young Americans to the New Wave defining Ashes to Ashes. From the anthemic Heroes to the disco-funk of Let’s Dance. With over 40 classic hits and fan favourites to draw upon as well as special “full album” performances, Spiders on Mars are not a tribute band, Spiders on Mars are a rocking tribute to the music of David Bowie! You can get tickets on the door night from 7.00pm.
Looks like a fantastic Sunday at The Bungalow. On Sunday afternoon Lemon Soul and special guests, The Nine Tens and Fragments are playing all day and into the night, and it’s all free. Doors open at 1.00pm. The running order is The Nine Tens 1.45pm, Lemon Soul 2.45pm and Fragments 6.00pm.
The Tuesday Bungalow Open Stage starts at 7.00pm. If you want to get on stage and jam or play some songs this is for you. The house band will be there to help and full backline available. Free entry.
The Keg have Black Dog Forge in on Saturday 21 June night at 9.00pm and Thursday’s Keg Sessions starts at 9.00pm for more original music.
The Swan have Give Away in on Friday night at 8.00pm and tomorrow, Saturday, The 125’s are on stage at 4.00pm. The Sunday Soul Club starts at 3.00pm with John and Maria on the decks. Crawford Carlyle will be playing on Monday 23 June from 4.00pm; Lee James starts his comedy and song stage show on Tuesday 24 June at 3.00pm and every second Thursday at 5.30pm, Duncan McLellan kicks off at 4.00pm on Wednesday on 25 June.
The Cave’s line up this week is Head Hunters on Saturday at 5.00pm followed by a band at 8.00pm. Overdrive are playing on Sunday from 6.00pm.
Hard Times will be playing at Kennedy’s on Sunday 22 June from 3.00pm, and over at The Inn on the Corner, Ragamuffin will be on stage from 4.30pm
The Open Mic/Stage sessions next week are: The Abbey at 9pm on Monday, Ugly Duck Monday at 7pm, The Gantry at 9pm on Tuesday, The Bungalow on Tuesday 7pm, The Keg on Wednesday at 8.30pm and The Cave from 7pm on Thursday. The Inn on the Corner has an Open Mic on the last Tuesday of the month.

Go for a wee stroll, start at The Bungalow and catch The Nine Tens at 1.45pm, next Kennedy’s for Hard Times from 3pm; get a listen to Ragamuffin at 4.30pm who are playing at The Inn on the Corner; get back to The Bungalow to see Lemon Soul, and then later maybe catch John and Maria at The Swan for The Soul Club or stay at The Bungalow for Fragments. Or maybe you can set out a route that suits you.
