Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Radio Show, Thursdays 12 noon

13th Sep 2023

A new radio programme service has started for patients and staff at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow with the first programme broadcast on  Thursday 14 September 2023 at 12 noon.

The programme, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Request Show, is broadcast at 12 noon Thursdays, on Quality Radio on DAB digital radio across Glasgow and on 107.5 FM across Paisley and Renfrewshire and surrounding area, plus online and the Quality Radio App.

The Request Show is primarily for patients at the QEUH Glasgow to request music choices for family and friends at home and for the patients to make contact with family and friends while in the QEUH.   To send a request or choose music click on this link:     https://www.southernsound.org.uk/make-a-request

There will also be useful information about what is happening at the QEUH for patients, visitors and staff at Scotland’s super hospital.

Norman Ross, director of the Scottish registered charity and community radio station Quality Radio based in Paisley, says this will complement the service that is already provided at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.

The programme is in partnership with Southern Sound and presenter Alan Taylor.

Norman added: “I must thank the staff at Greater Glasgow & Clyde Health Board for their assistance in making the programmes possible and the co-operation of Southern Sound.  We look forward to working closely with the hospital to provide an enhanced service for patients, and for families at home.”
