Paisley live music gig guide for the week ahead

The Bungalow have the very popular mod band The Players on Friday 11 July. Expect an explosive musical journey from the 50’s onwards. ‘Subculture inspired Blues, R&B, Soul, Northern Soul’

The band are supported by a guest DJ. Free entry and doors are at 7.00pm. More mod madness on Saturday afternoon, 12 July, with SHOUT!  Get ready to dance and ‘shout’. Doors open at 1.00pm with music starting from 2.00pm and it is free entry.

In the evening Queen Rhapsody take to the stage for a night of classic Queen. The band faithfully recreates the energy, excitement, and emotion of a classic Queen concert. An authentic tribute, the four-piece band delivers powerful vocals, driving rock anthems and flamboyant showmanship. The band have been touring Britain and Europe captivating audiences with their nostalgic tribute show!

“We are very proud of our show and put all of our energy into making the show sound like Queen did in their magnificent live concerts” said Bradley Mitchell – Producer of Queen Rhapsody. After 9 years of touring the band is tighter than ever and the show has a great repertoire from fan-favourites’ to Queen’s stadium rock anthems.

Performances include hits from every decade of Queen’s musical legacy including Bohemian Rhapsody, It’s A Kind of Magic & We Will Rock You. Limited tickets on Eventbtrite and doors are at 7.00pm.

Take a trip on Sunday 13 July to Itchycoo Park. They will be playing music from the 1960’s and onwards.  This is set to be a fantastic afternoon, and a big crowd is expected. Doors open at 1.00pm / band on at 2.00pm.

Tuesday Open Stage starts at 7.00pm. If you want to get on stage and jam or play some songs this is for you. The house band will be there to help and full backline available.  Free entry.

The Keg have Mark McMillan in on Friday night, 11 July, at 9.00pm, and on Saturday 12 July at the same time it will be Canyon.

The Keg Sessions start at 9.00pm on Thursday 17 July for more original acts and bands.

The Swan has the mighty Kong on Friday night, 11 July at 8.00pm and Saturday 12 July, there will be live action at 4.00pm from Escaped followed by a DJ set. The Sunday Soul Club starts at 4.00pm with John and Maria on the decks. Ronnie T will be playing on Monday 14 July from 4.00pm; Lee James starts his comedy and song stage show on Tuesday 15 July at 3.00pm and Thursday 17 July at 5.00pm; David McKellar kicks off at 4.00pm on Wednesday 16 August.

The Cave’s line up this week is Wild Hogs at 5.00pm followed by Giveaway at 8.00pm. The Cave’s busy weekend finishes with live action at 6.00pm on Sunday 13 July.

I was walking past the band sounded amazing – I went in to listen for a few minutes. Wow what a brilliant night – everyone is so friendly – sat with people I didn’t know but I do now. Think the group were Dirty White Suit – they shook the building”

Playing at Kennedys Sunday’s regular live session this week is Cherry Red 53 who will be pounding out some well-known early rock favourites from 3.00pm. The Inn on the Corner have Cranked to 11 pounding out classic rock favourites on Sunday 13 July from 4.30pm.

The Open Mic/Stage Sessions next week are: The Abbey at 9pm on Monday; Ugly Duck Monday at 7pm; The Gantry at 9pm on Tuesday; The Bungalow on Tuesday 7pm; The Keg on Wednesday at 8.30pm and The Cave from 7pm on Thursday. The Inn on the Corner has an Open Mic on the last Tuesday of the month.
