Paisley live music gig guide for the weekend and all next week

Tonight, Friday 1st November 2024, is a free entry show at The Bungalow and it is one not to be missed for all Classic Rock lovers. Shardlake will be on stage for what is now an annual event, and they will be playing a set full of the best rock tunes ever. Doors are at 7.00pm.

Tomorrow afternoon, Saturday 2 November, sees the return of the brilliant Dead Flowers after a long absence from the Paisley music scene. Frontman Nicky said: “I’ve always thought of us as a Paisley band, so it’s great to be back” This is free show and doors are 1.00pm.

NNE are delighted to present True Order who are playing Saturday night. They are the UK’s only tribute to the iconic Manchester band, New Order. They will be performing the band’s greatest hits such as “Blue Monday”, “True Faith” and “Bizarre Love Triangle” as well as lesser-known songs like “Procession” and “Everything’s Gone Green” they are a must for lovers of pop music and New Order fans alike. Tickets on the door from 7.00pm.

On Sunday afternoon, 3 November, it is another free entry show with Lemon Soul, get in early for a set from 1.00pm.

The Songs of Stuart Adamson (pictured) is on Sunday night, 3 November, and the band performing the songs will be – Mark Brzezicki (Big Country) Simon Hough (Ex Big Country) Chris Layhe (Icicle Works) and Ken Nicol (Steeleye Span). This is a very special union of four of the finest musicians performing the ultimate acoustic homage to the Late Great Stuart Adamson.

You can expect songs that have never been played live before along with the classic Big Country hits we all know and love. TSOSA perform acoustic versions of Stuart Adamson Songs with amazing vocal harmony and precise musical awareness. Big Country are still very active with Mark still leading the charge, but this is something a little special for all the fans to enjoy.

Over the coming months the band will be in the studio recording a new album to coincide with their 2025 British and European tour. Tickets on the door from 7.00pm.

On Tuesday, 5 November, it is the Jam and Open Stage Night, and doors are at 7.00pm. The Thursday Introducing Night next week features Portland, Allsorts and Bogle. Tickets on the door from 7.00pm.

The Old Swan have Jay and Friends on tonight, Friday 1 November from 8.00pm and Saturday from 3.00pm it is Proposal followed by Moonrocks at 7.00pm. The Soul Sunday Session on Sunday 3 November starts at 4.00pm.  On Monday 4 November at 4.00pm it is Crawford Carlyle, Tuesday and Thursday the very entertaining Lee James will be kicking off at 3.00pm both days, and Duncan McLellan will be playing from 4.00pm on Wednesday.

The Keg have Mike Edwards in tonight at 9.00pm and The Brian Kelly Band known for electric guitar riffs, slapping bass and energetic drum fills kick off at 9.00pm Saturday night, 2 November.

The Keg Sessions on Thursday 7 November at 9.00pm is a night to check out up and coming or original artists. It’s free to attend and there will be two different acts each week.

The Cave have Sad Ida playing Saturday 2 November from 5.00pm and they are followed by Drunken Angels at 8.00pm. The amazing Nightfly will be playing on Sunday 3 November at 6.00pm. This is a chance to see one of the finest bands around.

Kennedy’s have The Quincy Duo in on Sunday 3 November from 3.00pm and The Inn on the Corner have Ragamuffin playing Saturday at 6.00pm and Sunday at 4.30pm.  It is Jenni and The Blockheads. Cammy McIlwham is at The Ugly Duck on Saturday night from 6.00pm.

Open Mic/Stage Sessions next week are: The Abbey at 9.00pm on Monday, Ugly Duck Monday at 7.00pm; The Gantry at 9.00pm on Tuesday, The Bungalow on Tuesday 5 November 7.00pm; The Keg on Wednesday at 8.30pm, and The Wee Howff from 8.00pm on Thursday 7 November. The Inn on the Corner has an Open Mic on the last Tuesday of the month.
