Paisley Halloween Festival 2024 celebrated its milestone 10th anniversary in style on Friday night, 25 October, with thousands of visitors gathering in the town centre to enjoy the triumphant return of the spectacular parade.
The 300-strong parade was the centrepiece of celebrations as professional performers and community groups wound through the town centre delighting crowds.
A number of exciting event changes have been made to mark the festival’s 10th year including the new town centre parade route taking in Mill Street for the first time.
Another change to this year’s event saw the funfair relocated to the Lagoon Car Park and East End Park offering plenty of opportunities to entertain children and adults alike.
Paisley has become Scotland’s home of Halloween in recent years, and this was the first of two nights of the free-to-attend event. The event took place from 2.00pm – 9.00pm on Saturday 26 October with the parade starting from 7.00pm.
On Saturday, 26 October, there were plenty of daytime entertainment on offer with live performances on the stage at Bridge Street and at County Square, Paisley, arts and crafts sessions were at Paisley Central Library and The Art Department as well as marshmallow pits and a selection of street food options.
The town will be dressed for the occasion with surprise installations dotted all around town to help create that spooky atmosphere. There will also be eerie lighting displays on some of the town’s most well-known buildings.
The event is delivered by Renfrewshire Council in partnership with performance specialists Cirque Bijou. Lighting design by Grant Anderson and supported by EventScotland as part of their National Events Funding Programme.
