Work EastRen to host Employability Day in Barrhead

28th May 2026

Jobseekers and those looking to build new skills are invited to attend Work EastRen’s upcoming Employability Day, taking place on Friday 19 June from 9.30am until 12.30pm at the service’s office at 14 Lowndes Street, Barrhead G78 2QX

The event will bring together a wide range of employability specialists and support organisations, offering residents and clients the opportunity to access advice, explore training options and connect directly with services designed to help them move closer to employment and training opportunities.

The drop-in event is open to anyone considering their next step – whether that’s entering the workforce, changing career or developing new skills. Alongside the East Renfrewshire Local Employability Partners, attendees will be able to speak one-to-one with advisors from Work EastRen, who will be on hand to provide guidance on job searching, CV development, interview preparation and training pathways.

A number of partner organisations will also be present, ensuring a breadth of expertise and support under one roof.

Representatives from employability partners including Skills Development Scotland, Values Into Action Scotland, Enable, the Scottish Association for Mental Health, Recovery Across Mental Health, Voluntary Action, the Job Centre and East Renfrewshire Citizens Advice will all be available to share information and answer questions.

The event will also highlight employment opportunities within East Renfrewshire Council services.

The Council’s facilities management team will be attending to showcase career options, and colleagues from human resources will be there to talk to clients on the process of applying for a job within East Renfrewshire Council. In addition, Enjoy EastRen will be promoting its new Lifeguard Course.

Environment and Housing Convener, Councillor Danny Devlin said: “This event is about making employability support accessible, bringing together multiple services in one place to help residents take practical steps towards their goals. Visitors can drop in on the day to explore opportunities, gain insights from professionals and make connections that could support their journey into work or further training. So, I’d encourage anyone interested to come along on the day!”
