A controlled explosion has taken place in the Broadloan area of Renfrew, following the discovery of a possible unexploded hand grenade.
At around 7.30pm on Monday, 18 May 2026, Police Scotland were made aware of the item being found in a garden in the town.
The EOD attended and removed the item.
At 5.30am on Tuesday, 19 May, it was destroyed via controlled explosion at a safe location nearby.
A cordon was put in place and no evacuations were required.
