Paisley live music gigs this weekend and all next week

The Bungalow have a charity event tonight, Friday 8 August, raising funds and awareness of men’s mental health, Brothers in Arms and Paisley’s Men’s Shed.

The night features four live acts: MrdB, Redbricktent, Stevie Hillcoat Band and The Droogs.

Brothers in Arms is a Scottish charity that supports men’s mental and emotional wellbeing. Its mission addresses a challenge affecting families globally, and the purpose of a Men’s Shed is to provide a community space for men to connect, converse, and create, often through practical activities like woodworking, metalworking, or other hobbies. It’s a place to reduce loneliness and isolation. Support these two great charities by buying a ticket at only £10 for a night packed with music. Doors open at 7.00pm.

It is a free entry afternoon tomorrow, Saturday 9 August, with the amazing Divas Soul Band. Doors are at 1.00pm.

Saturday evening, pop into The Bungalow and enjoy a night of hits from the best bands who were instrumental in the Mod, Britpop, Ska and Soul movement. Get your fill of classic tunes from The Who, Small Faces, The Jam, Spencer Davis and many more played by The M65’s. This is a free gig and doors are at 7.00pm.

Filthy White Suit return to The Bungalow for a free entry Sunday session on 10 August. Doors open at 1.00pm with band on approx. 2.00pm.

The Bungalow Open Stage starts at 7.00pm on Tuesday, 12 August. If you want to get on stage and jam or play some songs this is for you. The house band will be there to help and full backline available.  Free entry.

PaiSlay Drag Show! Showcasing the best of Scotland’s drag scene is back at The Bungalow on Wednesday 13 August. The show is full of performances, games and plenty of fun. Tickets on the door from 7.00pm.

The best in up-and-coming fresh acts on the Thursday 14 August Introducing bill is The Breathing Method, Half Head and Bunny and the Badfire. You can get tickets on the door from 7.00pm. £5 for a night of live music from three bands, what’s not to like.

The Keg have Brian Kelly in tonight, Friday 8 August at 9.00pm and tomorrow night, Saturday 9 August, at the same time and straight from a great gig at The Bungalow last week it is Howlin Radio. The band are known for their uplifting and original hits from the 1960’s & 70’s from the likes of Bowie, Stones, Kinks, Clapton, Hendrix, Elvis, Creedence and many more. The Keg Sessions start at 9.00pm on Thursday 14 August for more original acts and bands.

The Swan have Status No on tonight, 8 August at 8.00pm and tomorrow, Saturday 9 August, it looks like a cracking gig as Fire In play a tribute to Oasis and the 90’s. The Sunday Soul Club on 10 August starts at 4.00pm with John and Maria back on the decks. Crawford Carlyle will be playing on Monday 11 August from 4.00pm; Lee James starts his comedy and song stage show on Tuesday 12 August at 3.00pm and Thursday 14 August at 5.30pm, Duncan McLellan kicks off at 4pm on Wednesday 13 August.

Contrary to local rumours The Cave is still open for business and this week’s regular Triple Whammy of live music at the weekend starting tomorrow, 9 August at 5.00pm is Canyon followed by Distant Sun at 8.00pm, on Sunday from 6pm it is Rumours. The update is the building is for sale and will still be trading as usual. Support The Cave and pop in for a beer and catch some music in this well-loved intimate venue.

If you missed Howlin Radio last night at The Keg, don’t worry, they are at Kennedy’s on Sunday 10 August from 3.00pm and later on The Inn on the Corner have Rheumatoid Rockers on from 4.30pm.

The Open Mic/Stage Sessions next week commencing Monday 11 August are: The Abbey at 9pm on Monday, Ugly Duck Monday at 7pm, The Gantry at 9pm on Tuesday, The Bungalow on Tuesday 7pm, The Keg on Wednesday at 8.30pm and The Cave from 7pm on Thursday.
