Paisley live music guide for the weekend and all next week

Straighten Out are called the world greatest tribute to the early years of The Stranglers and you find out how good they are tonight, Friday 29 November at The Bungalow.

Tickets on the door tonight, Friday, from 7.00pm.

On Saturday 30 November, The Divas Soul are back for another session of classic Motown and Soul. The gig is free entry and doors are at 1.00pm. Saturday night, 30 November, is a double bill with Meteora and Limp Bizkit. Tickets on the door from 7.00pm.

On Sunday 1st December 2024, it is ‘Movie Morning’ featuring a Paisley First funded film Home Alone for kids (and grown-up kids).  Tickets from Eventbrite.  After the movie, Merged Events are hosting a family friendly fundraiser on Sunday from 2.00pm and the line-up is fantastic.

On stage will be Sian Clark, Pidgin, Sigurast Ragnarsdottir, Esther’s Wife, Bobby Kakouris, Rona Bryden Liv Daen, Lost Angels, Sarha Verity, Hannah Nicole, Venus in the Lake, Terra Kin, Tanzana, Save Face, Angel May, Freel Percent, Frank’s House, Mars Rivera, Abbie Gordon, Andrea, Justine Beverly and Echo.

All proceeds go to Girls Rock Glasgow. Their mission is to help girls and non-binary kids play music and have a space for themselves to meet new friends There will be stalls promoting the group and they will be selling crafts. Tickets on the door from 2.00pm.

The Bungalow Tuesday Open Stage starts at 7.00pm and on Thursday the Introducing Night features Zoned Out, Monday Mob and Straw Dogs 1980. Tickets on the door from 7.00pm.

Venue has a fantastic gig for all ages on Sunday 1 December from 1.00pm. Louise Amy and Reded Sheeran bring you a live show paying tribute to the two biggest names in the music business today, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift. The set list is impressive and give you some of the biggest songs ever. You can hear all the hits from both artists live on stage by getting tickets from Skiddle.

Four great bands at The Cave this week: The Muldoon’s tonight, Friday 29 November at 8.00pm and they will be playing some of the tracks from their new album. Saturday 30 November, The Players will be ‘playing’ from 5.00pm and they will be followed by The Mighty Kong at 8.00pm. The Weekend will be finished off ‘splendidly’ by The Splendid Sons at 6.00pm on Sunday 1 December 2024.

The Old Swan have Addiction in tonight, Friday 29 November at 8.00pm, and tomorrow, Saturday at 3.00pm it is Crackerman.

It’s a big Soul Event on Sunday 1 December with headliners The Mc-Commitments who put on a great show celebrating the Commitments. It all kicks off at 4.00pm and goes all the way up to 9.00pm. On the decks will be John and Maria who will be playing before and after the live show. Tickets from the venue.

Crawford Carlyle will be playing on Monday from 4.00pm and on Wednesday at 4.00pm it is Duncan McLellan. Lee James sings ‘Songs from the Decades’ as well as keeping everyone entertained with his comedy banter and stories on Tuesday and Thursday at 3.00pm.

The Keg has Francis Bond on Friday night, 29 November from 9.00pm and on Saturday, 30 November, at the same time it is Lateral Flow.  The 5-piece rock band covers modern, and classics tunes from the likes of AC/DC, Queen, My Chemical Romance, Status Quo and surprisingly they have rocking party tunes from artists like Cher and ABBA too.

The Keg Sessions start at 9.00pm on Thursday 5 December. This is a chance to see more original bands and artists.

The Inn on the Corner are Rheumatoid Rockers kick off at 4.30pm.

Open Mic/Stage sessions next week are: The Abbey at 9pm on Monday; Ugly Duck Monday at 7pm; The Gantry at 9pm on Tuesday; The Bungalow on Tuesday 7pm; The Keg on Wednesday at 8.30pm and The Wee Howff from 8pm on Thursday. The Inn on the Corner has an Open Mic on the last Tuesday of the month.
