Paisley town Live music gigs this weekend and all next week

21st Oct 2026

By Tommy McGrory

As some of you might know I have run the Loud n Proud School of Rock for 25 years. One of the first bands we ever had was FreeSpeech and on Friday night, 23 October, they are having a celebration gig at The Bungalow for their 20th Anniversary.

It’ll be a nostalgic night for those of us who remember them coming in for lessons with their primary school uniforms on, and now seeing them still playing onstage. (makes me feel old) It’s going to be a cracking night. FreeSpeech (pictured above, plus drummer in the band) are high energy, banging, exciting and loud. I might be a bit biased; however, they are my favourite all time band at Loud n Proud since I started it in 2001. Anyway, don’t take my word, pop in and decide for yourself. Tickets on the door, Friday night from 7.00pm.

Bobby Deans Big Band will be blasting out some Big Band, Jazz, Swing and even some of today’s numbers on Saturday afternoon. As ever on vocals is the very talented John Griffith. Doors are at 1.00pm.

Jericho Hill bring their Johnny Cash show to The Bungalow on Saturday, 24 October night. Experience the raw and gritty world of Johnny Cash’s prison era with the songs that has captivated audiences for decades. Expect all your favourites such as: I Walk the Line, Ring of Fire, Folsom Prison Blues and A Boy Named Sue.  It is free entry and doors are 7.00pm.

Filthy White Suits are playing on Sunday 25 October. They are a full-on pub rock cover band who started in 2021. They specialise in quick fire interpretations of popular songs and forgotten hits of every genre from the 50s 60s 70s and 80s. Catch them on for free on Sunday, doors are at 1.00pm.

BungaLaff is back on Sunday night, and you can get tickets on the door from 7.00pm.

The Bungalow Wednesday Club starts at 2.00pm with an afternoon of fun from singer John Griffith of The Bobby Deans Big Band, and to start , it is the weekly quiz.

In the Wednesday evening, it is Poetry Night, doors are 7.00pm.

On Thursday there is a Renfrewshire Mental Health Arts Festival Open Stage and pumpkin painting session. This is a dry bar event from 7.00pm.

Ronnie T kicks off at The Old Swan from 4pm on Friday night, 23 October, and following him is Addiction at 8.00pm. Saturday 24 October in the ‘Shopper’s Slot’ Freight Train will be coming down the line at 4.00pm. The Sunday Soul Club starts at 4.00pm till 8.00pm.

Listen to the voice of Crawford Carlyle on Monday at 5.00pm – he is one of the best singers around and it is free. Lee James is playing Tuesday 27 October at 3.00pm and every second Thursday at 5.00pm; and alternatively sometimes it is Cammy Miller.  Duncan McLellan will be onstage on Wednesday 28 October at 5.00pm.

Greg James is live at The Keg on Friday night, 23 October from 9.00pm and on Saturday night it will be Howlin’ Radio at 9.00pm. There is a new Vinyl Hangout Night from 7.00pm to late on Sunday. On Thursday 29 October, you can discover a full line up of new or up and coming talent showcasing new original material including 189 and Lucy Connor.  It all kicks off at 9.00pm.

Live session as usual at Kennedys on Sunday from 3.00pm. Drty Luv are at Sportsters on Saturday, 24 October from 5.00pm; then on Sunday 25 October at 6pm it is Broken Angel followed by The Jim Keilt with the State Bar Blues Band at 8pm.

Catch The View frontman Kyle Falconer on Saturday night, 24 October at The Venue on his intimate tour to support his new album.  Expect to hear solo material and The View classics. Tickets from Skiddle and doors are at 7.00pm.

Open mic nights dates are: The Abbey at 9pm on Monday, Ugly Duck Monday at 7pm, The Gantry at 9pm on Tuesday, and the Trad Jam at The Anchor from 8pm. A new Open Mic started at Sportsters on the last Tuesday of the month.

“Have a great week and Keep Music Live”.
