Friday night, 6 February, at The Bungalow is ‘An ABBA Dream’ who are a 4-piece tribute to the great ABBA.
ABBA as everyone must know were a Swedish pop group formed in Stockholm in 1972 by Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. They are among the most renowned and commercially successful musical groups in history. In 1974, ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest for Sweden with their song “Waterloo”.

Join Itchycoo Park on Saturday afternoon, 7 February, for all the best music from the 1960’s & beyond – featuring The Beatles, Stones, Kinks, Hollies & more. This will be a busy one and it is recommended to get in early when the doors open which is 1.00pm.
The Complete Stone Roses are one of the UK’s most well-known, most seen and most successful tribute bands. Selling out venues across the UK and Ireland regularly, they have helped to carry on the music of one of the UK’s most influential bands – The Stone Roses. As always, it is sold out. You might get a hand back ticket from Skiddle so keep your eyes peeled. Doors are at 7.00pm.
The Petty Officials Covers Band make their debut at The Bungalow on Sunday afternoon, 8 February. As it is their first gig, I’ve never seen them, but here is what is said about them: “Caught these guys live tonight in Hamilton, brilliant musicianship, great selection of songs and great singers and players. Made new friends in these guys tonight. Keep up the awesome work” Doors at 2.00pm.
The Bungalow Jam kicks off at 7.00pm on Tuesday 10 February. This week it has a different flavour as there will be music, games, a quiz and the usual Open Mic. All the fun starts when doors open at 7.00pm.
The Bungalow Wednesday Club starts at 2.00pm with an afternoon of fun from singer John Griffith of The Bobby Deans Big Band and the popular quiz – it’s not the winning, it’s the learning!
On Thursday Introducing Night Colm O’Sullivan, Lucas H and Jack Brodie will be on stage giving you a glimpse of what the best emerging talent looks like. Tickets on the door from 7.00pm.
The Swan has award winning band Proposal in tonight, Friday 6 February, and they kick off at 8.00pm. On Saturday afternoon. 7 February from 4.00pm it is a triple whammy with Epic followed by a live sax player and DJ set till late.
The Sunday Soul Club kicks off at 4.00pm with John and Maria on the decks. Crawford Carlyle will be playing on Monday from 4.00pm; Lee James starts his comedy and song stage show on Tuesday at 3.00pm and every second Thursday at 5.00pm, and alternatively sometimes it is Cammy Miller. Duncan McLellan will be onstage on Wednesday to play a whole load of your favourite songs.
Amped are at The Keg on Saturday night from 9.00pm. They are a 4-piece rock cover band from Paisley bringing classic anthems and modern bangers to life, covering the likes of Pink Floyd, Oasis, ACDC, Bad Company, The Rolling Stones, Blink 182 and Green Day. On Thursday you can discover a full line up of new or up and coming talent kicking off at 9.00pm.
On Sunday 8 February at The Inn on the Corner, The Latest Flames will be kicking off at 4.30pm. Here is what they say about them: “These guys are amazing! Fantastic voices and harmonising, talented and they look so great together too, they have a bright future ahead of them”
The Open Mic/Stage Sessions next week are: The Abbey at 9pm on Monday; Ugly Duck Monday at 7pm; The Gantry at 9pm on Tuesday; The Bungalow on Tuesday 7pm; The Keg on Wednesday at 8.30pm and The Inn on the Corner has an Open Mic on the last Tuesday of the month.
