Norman Ross’ charity fundraiser for Quality Radio of flying the famous Spitfire aeroplane at Biggin Hill, Kent, the flight has been completed.
Norman went through rigorous training for the flight and then, he was all set to go. Here are a few pictures of the event at Biggin Hill, Kent with Norman preparing for the flight on Tuesday 19 August 2025.
Biggin Hill was firmly established as a key experimental base for new technologies during the inter-war period such as sound location devices developed between 1919 and 1936 for the detection of approaching aircraft.
