Scottish rock group The Primevals are heading to The Bungalow tonight, Friday 29 August.
The band were influenced by the MC5, The Stooges, Captain Beefheart, Pharoah Sanders, The Gun Club, The Cramps, and 1960s American garage rock. The Primevals has toured extensively in Europe and have recorded 5 sessions for BBC Radio 1 including a John Peel session which was released on 12” single they also recorded tribute covers for various compilation releases dedicated to Captain Beefheart, Suicide and The Byrds. Support from local favourites The Rants. Tickets on the door from 7.00pm.
Tomorrow, Saturday 30 August, afternoon’s band Dignity – The Deacon Blue Experience is new on the scene, and although this is their first gig at The Bungalow, the band are full of well-kent top players from bands you no doubt have seen before. This will be a gig not to missed because this one is free, and the next time it’ll cost you ticket money! Doors are at 1.00pm.
In the evening, Saturday 30 August, there is a tribute night to two of the biggest country stars Dolly Parton and Shania Twain. Doors open at 7.00pm and tickets are still available.
Just right after their 25th Anniversary gig, The Brass Monkeys with their BIG Band sounds, are at The Bungalow on Sunday afternoon, 31 August. It’s free entry and doors are at 1.00pm.
Tomorrow night, Saturday 30 August, Adam Dolan will be playing acoustic ‘noughties’ covers and songs for a pre-show warm up on Sunday for The High School Musical 2 Boozy Movie Night. Expect Movie themed cocktails, free popcorn, bingo and a great playlist to boogie to. Tickets on the door from 7.00pm.
The Tuesday Bungalow Open Stage starts at 7.00pm. If you want to get on stage and jam or play some songs this is for you. The house band will be there to help and full backline available. Free entry. On Wednesday, 3 September The Bungalow Club starts at 2.00pm. Join in with the regular fun quiz and listen to John Griffin, The Bobby Deans Big Band lead singer.
The Bungalow Presents night on Thursday 4 September features The Bailey Tones and The Buchanan Street Preachers. Get down for a fun night of classic covers ranging from 1950/60’s Rock N’ Roll and Country and Pop. Tickets on the door from 7.00pm.
The Swan has Addiction on tonight, Friday 29 August from 8.00pm. Freight Train are playing from 4.00pm tomorrow, Saturday 30 August, and following them at 8.00pm it is Crackerman. The Sunday Soul Club starts at 3.00pm with John and Maria on the decks. Crawford Carlyle will be playing on Monday 1 September from 4.00pm; Lee James starts his comedy and song stage show on Tuesday 2 September at 3.00pm and every second Thursday at 5.30pm; Duncan McLellan kicks off at 4.00pm on Wednesday.

The Keg have Fire In on stage tonight, Friday 29 August at 9.00pm. Thursday’s Keg Sessions starts at 9.00pm for original music acts and bands.
Rockabilly band Cherry Red ‘53 are at Kennedys from 3.00pm on Sunday 31 August, so prepare for a bit of old time Rock n Roll from one of Paisley’s favourite bands.
Just to confirm it is a 3.00pm start as I got it wrong last week (sorry guys!). Starting later at 4.30pm over at The Inn on the Corner it is The Suspects followed by Jim Kelt with The State Bar Blues Band at 8.00pm till late.
