Paisley accountancy firm fundraising adds up to big donation for cancer charity

24th Nov 2025

You can count on the staff at Paisley chartered accountancy firm, John M Taylor and Co., to do their bit for a good cause as part of their centenary year.

Staff there invited clients to come along for a ‘Coffee and Cakes’ event and raised £1,503 for Macmillan Cancer Support charity.

Scores of staff and clients attended the fundraiser and enjoyed coffee, tea and home baking at their offices in 9 Glasgow Road, Paisley.

And there was plenty fun to be had with those attending being asked to choose who was the best baker of the sweet treats, like cupcakes and strawberry tarts on offer.

There were also games of finding the coffee bean in a picture and guessing how many sweets were in a jar.

The best baking accolade was won by John M Taylor business support manager, Laura Barrie’s 13-year-old daughter Emily, pictured below.

Ian Barr, one of the firm’s directors said: “As part of our centenary celebrations we wanted to do something for a good cause as most people, including some of our staff, have been affected by cancer in one way or another.

“That’s why we chose Macmillan Cancer Support as the charity to benefit from our fundraising.

“We’d like to thank everyone who came along and helped raised such a fantastic amount of money. We didn’t expect so many people to turn up and everyone had a great time.”
