Fàilte Paisley at The Tannahill Centre, Paisley this Saturday.

Families and communities across Paisley and Renfrewshire are being invited to come together for an afternoon of music, dance, culture and family entertainment at Fàilte Paisley on Saturday 29 August 2026.

Taking place at Tannahill Centre from 1.00pm until 4.00pm, the event will bring the community together in support of Classrooms for Malawi and Fèis Phàislig, with a packed programme of entertainment and activities for all ages.

Hosted by TV presenter Joy Dunlop, the afternoon will feature ceilidh dancing, live music and guest performers with visitors also encouraged to take part by sharing a tune, song, poem or story.

There will be plenty to keep younger visitors entertained too, including a bouncy castle and glitter tattoos, while food van will offer refreshments throughout the afternoon.

Visitors will also have the chance to support the fundraising effort by taking part in a tombola and raffle, with all proceeds helping to support the event’s chosen causes.

Importantly, Fàilte Paisley is a pay what you can event, making it accessible for everyone in the community. Donations are welcomed from those who are able to contribute.

Councillor Janis McDonald, who is supporting the event, said: “Fàilte Paisley is all about bringing people together. We wanted to create a welcoming, family-friendly afternoon where people can enjoy music, dancing and culture while supporting two fantastic causes. There really is something for everyone, from ceilidh dancing and live performances to children’s activities, food vans, tombola and raffle. Most importantly, the event is fun, so everyone can come along and enjoy the afternoon. If people are able to donate or support the fundraising activities, that will be very much appreciated.”

The event will support Classrooms for Malawi, helping to improve educational opportunities for children in Malawi, alongside Fèis Phàislig, which celebrates and promotes Scottish Gaelic music and culture in Paisley. Organisers are encouraging local families, community groups and people of all ages to come along, enjoy the entertainment and help make the afternoon a celebration of community spirit. Everyone is welcome.
