Erskine’s Christmas lights have been switched on for 2025 with locals turning out to enjoy the occasion.

Choirs from Erskine schools entertained the crowds and there was fun for all the family with street entertainers, a giant snow globe and stalls from community organisations and local businesses.

It wouldn’t be Christmas without an appearance from Santa, who joined Renfrewshire Provost Lorraine Cameron and competition winner Ayla from Rashielea Primary School, Erskine to push the button and light up Erskine for the festive season.

Provost Cameron also handed out certificates to young people who have been recognised in the search for Erskine’s Young Citizen of the Year.

Riley Thomson, Chloe McConville, Jay Larkin and Eve Grant were all recognised for their dedication and commitment to the community, with the Erskine Young Citizen of the Year Award being won by  The event was run by Erskine & District Rotary Club and supported by Renfrewshire Council.

There’s still festive fun to come with Linwood’s Christmas event taking place on Friday 5 December at Tweedie Hall, Linwood.
