Fèis Phàislig, a leading arts organisation in Renfrewshire, is thrilled to announce the return of its ‘Stramash for Schools’ tour and the opening of applications for its annual Fèis Week event in 2024.
Building on the success of the Royal National Mòd’s visit to Paisley in 2023, Fèis Phàislig’s ‘Stramash for Schools’ tour will offer primary schools the opportunity to experience live traditional music, and Gaelic culture from a team of professional musicians.
The tour will kick off on Monday 15 April 2024, coinciding with the opening of applications for the annual Fèis Week event, now in its 9th year.
This year, ‘Stramash for Schools’ will visit 42 schools across Renfrewshire, providing free access to traditional arts for approximately 10,000 pupils. The tour aims to inspire and engage young people with Scotland’s cultural heritage.
Fèis Week, which welcomed over 160 young people in 2023, will feature a brand-new subject – Music Production. The four-day event offers young people the opportunity to work with some of Scotland’s best traditional musicians and tutors, immersing themselves in traditional arts and Gaelic culture.
