Crowds turned out in Houstoun Square, Johnstone on Saturday to see the town’s Christmas lights switched on for 2025.
Local acts kept the crowds entertained from the Houstoun Square Bandstand, and the funfair offered a series of thrills for those young and young at heart.
There was fun for all the family with the St Vincent’s Hospice Christmas market; face painting, street entertainers and a giant snow globe – perfect for capturing those special family memories.

It wouldn’t be Christmas without an appearance from Santa, who was in his grotto to find out what the children of Johnstone are hoping to find in their stockings this year.

At 5.00pm Renfrewshire Provost Lorraine Cameron was joined by competition winner, Jenna from Wallace Primary School in Elderslie, to push the button and light up Johnstone town centre
There’s still festive fun to come with the Linwood Christmas event taking place on Friday 5 December at Tweedie Hall, Linwood.
