London Concertante Presents Festive December Concert Series at Paisley Abbey

• Seven Scottish performances across Edinburgh and Paisley
• Programmes include Christmas at the Movies, Moonlight Sonata by Candlelight and the Viennese Christmas Spectacular
• New album Christmas at the Movies released on CMG Records

London Concertante brings an atmospheric and varied programme of festive concerts to Scotland this December, presenting seven candlelit performances across Edinburgh and Paisley between 12 and 21 December 2025. Appearing in two of Scotland’s most iconic historic venues — St Giles’ Cathedral, Edinburgh and Paisley Abbey — the ensemble offers audiences a rich musical journey from cinematic favourites to Viennese elegance and intimate piano masterpieces.

On Sunday 14 December, the ensemble travels to Paisley Abbey: an afternoon performance of Moonlight Sonata by Candlelight at 2.30pm, featuring iconic piano works including Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, followed by the Viennese Christmas Spectacular at 5:00pm, an uplifting programme of Strauss, Tchaikovsky and Brahms.

The Scottish tour concludes on Sunday 21 December at Paisley Abbey with a 5.00pm performance of Christmas at the Movies, offering audiences a final opportunity to experience the ensemble’s signature cinematic celebration before Christmas.

At 2.30pm, pianist Ian Buckle performs Moonlight Sonata by Candlelight, including Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, Chopin’s Raindrop Prelude and Liszt’s Sonata in B minor.

At 5.00pm, London Concertante returns with the Viennese Christmas Spectacular, featuring works by Johann Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Brahms and more, concluding with The Blue Danube.

At 5.00pm, London Concertante presents a final Scottish performance of Christmas at the Movies, offering audiences a festive cinematic journey in the atmospheric surroundings of Paisley Abbey.
