Man arrested following drugs recovery in Paisley

A man has been arrested and charged following a drugs recovery in Paisley.

Around 4.15pm on Tuesday 24 February 2026, response policing officers on patrol as part of the Renfrewshire Road Safety Initiative stopped a vehicle on Limecraigs Drive, Glenburn, Paisley.

The driver made off and was traced in a property nearby.

Cannabis with a potential street value of up to £68,000 was discovered within.

The 30-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with drug and road traffic offences.

He is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 25 February 2026.

Inspector Lorna McLaren said: “This is a clear example of how proactive policing makes a difference. We remain committed to tackling criminality and keeping our roads safe.”

“We are determined to protect the public from this harmful criminality by disrupting the sale of illegal substances, preventing them being circulated on our streets and addressing the concerns of local people.”
