The Bungalow has a first on Friday night, 10 July, as Laura B and The Vibe take to the stage for their first gig at the legendary venue.
Laura has the reputation of being a top singer of authentic Rhythm and Blues, Swing & Rock ‘n’ Roll, her All Star Bandit’s always give you a bouncing night. Tickets on the door at 7.00pm Friday.
Doors open at 1.00pm on Saturday 11 July for another Saturday free entry gig. The Colombos Soul Band are heading to The Bungalow for an afternoon session packed with great songs. The Columbos Soul Band are well known for their soulful performances, covering legendary artists like Otis Redding, James Brown, and Stevie Wonder.
In the evening Spiders on Mars, a Glasgow-based, six-piece David Bowie tribute band are back to play you all the best Bowie tunes. Formed in 2004 they perform hits from throughout Bowie’s career, including the Ziggy Stardust era. Their live show features classic songs, such as “Heroes” and “Starman” Tickets on the door from 7.00pm.
On Sunday afternoon, 12 July, one of the Bungalow’s favourite customers Angie Barr will be in on Sunday. This time she won’t be sitting back watching, she will be fronting Broken Angel belting out some great songs for you to sing and dance to. This is a free afternoon show and doors are 1.00pm.
The Bungalow Jam kicks off at 7.00pm on Tuesday 14 July. This week’s entertainment includes music, games, a quiz and the usual Open Mic. This is free entry.
The Bungalow Wednesday Club starts at 2.00pm with an afternoon of fun from singer John Griffith of The Bobby Deans Big Band the weekly quiz.
On Wednesday it is Club Poetry Night. Doors are 7.00pm.
Thursday night is an Introducing Night featuring Idiot Band, Insert Caption and HIPPO. Tickets on the door from 7.00pm.
Ronnie T kicks off at The Old Swan from 4.00pm on Friday night, 10 July and following him is a live session from Small Town Sound at 8pm.
On Saturday 11 July, The Big Groove will be onstage at 4.00pm ready to pound out some of your favourite songs. The Sunday Soul Club starts at 4.00pm. If you have nothing to do on Monday, treat yourself and get to The Old Swan to listen to the fantastic voice of Crawford Carlyle singing some of the best ‘singers’ tunes at 5.00pm and on Monday, Lee James on Tuesday at 3.00pm and every second Thursday at 5.00pm and alternatively sometimes it is Cammy Miller. Duncan McLellan will be onstage on Wednesday 15 July at 5.00pm.
Straight from his successful World Cup tour in the USA, Ciaran Whyte will be back on home ground and playing at The Keg on Friday night, 10 July from 9.00pm. Saturday night, 11 July from 9.00pm it is Blind Panik who will be onstage belting out some Blues, Boogie and Rock bangers. On Thursday 16 July, you can discover a full line up of new or up and coming talent kicking off at 9.00pm.
Graeme J Kerr will be at Sportsters from 8.00pm on Friday 10 July. Graeme’s repertoire is vast and his skill with a loop pedal gives you a full band experience.
Kennedys have Underdog from 3.00pm on Sunday 12 July.
On Sunday The Inn on the Corner have Broken Angel starting at 6.00pm. So, if you can’t catch them at The Bungalow this is your chance to see them.
Check out the new Trad Night on Thursdays at The Anchor – it is great wee night. Bring an instrument and join in or sit back and enjoy the music from Mairead McManus, Katie Boyle, Johnny Canning and whoever turns up on the night. Starts at 8.00pm Thursdays.
