PAISLEY town live music gigs this Easter Weekend and all next week

This week at The Bungalow they are having a Northern Soul Weekender featuring Scotland’s longest running Northern Soul, Soul, 60’s and R&B band, Berry Tweed & The Chasers.  Get down there on Good Friday night, 3 April, and check them out. Music to dance to and it is free with doors from 7.00pm.

This Easter Weekend on Saturday afternoon, 4 April, the very popular Smokin’ at Tiffany’s return to The Bungalow.  They put on a classic Motown, Funk and Soul show with an exceptional line up of great musicians. The gig is free entry and doors open at 1.00pm. This gig is a mix of seating and standing.

On Saturday evening, 4 April, The Signatures, who are the UK’s best live Northern Soul Band will be on stage at The Bungalow. The Signatures are a ten-piece soul band, and they play rare soul associated with the 1970’s underground dance scene “Northern Soul”.  The Signatures can be seen across the UK playing at many music festivals, live music venues as well as hosting their own Northern Soul nights working with various DJs across the UK. The Signatures have been fortunate enough to work with many original Northern Soul artists and the list is endless. Limited tickets on the door from 7.00pm or check Skiddle.

On Sunday, 5 April, there is a free entry session featuring Sound Affex who will be pounding out all your favourite Jam tunes. Doors are at 1.00pm.

The Bungalow Jam kicks off at 7.00pm on Tuesday 7 April.  This week it has a different flavour as there will be music, games, a Quiz and the usual Open Mic. All the fun starts when doors open at 7pm.

The Bungalow Wednesday Club starts at 2.00pm with an afternoon of fun from singer John Griffith of The Bobby Deans Big Band and the popular quiz – it’s not the winning, it’s the learning!

Thursday Introducing Night has been taken over by Brick Lane’s Under 25 music project. Pop in and listen to young bands perform live and showcase their latest recordings. This is funded by Renfrewshire Councils Culture Heritage and Events Fund. Performing live will be – Bite the Bullet, Vipera, Carmen and Petrichor. The event is free entry – U18s must be accompanied by an adult and doors are at 7.00pm.

Friday 3 April at The Swan has Ronnie T in from 4.00pm and at 8.000pm it is Abbey RoadCrackerman are in the coveted ‘Shoppers Slot’ at 4.00pm on Saturday.

The Sunday Soul Club kicks off at 4.00pm, and on Monday 6 April, the Pensioners Club is back from 2.00pm and Suzie Graham will be singing all the best hits from Patsy Cline. Crawford Carlyle will be playing straight after Suzie at 5.00pm. It is Lee James on Tuesday 7 April at 3.00pm and every second Thursday at 5.00pm, and alternatively, sometimes it is Cammy Miller.  Duncan McLellan will be onstage on Wednesday to play a whole load of your favourite songs.

Cameron King is at The Keg on Friday night 3 April from 9.00pm, and on Saturday, 4 April, from 9.00pm it is Kofi. On Thursday 9 April, you can discover a full-line up of new or up and coming talent at The Keg Sessions and it is kicking off at 9.00pm.

Sportsters now have Graeme Kerr in on Friday night 3 April from 8.00pm, and they have a live session on Sunday night,  5 April. Check venue for details.

Kennedys have Head Hunters in on Sunday 5 April from 3.00pm, and also on Sunday, over at The Inn on the Corner, Rheumatoid Rockers supply the live music from 6.00pm.

The Open Mic/Stage Sessions next week are: The Abbey at 9pm on Monday, Ugly Duck Monday at 7pm, The Gantry at 9pm on Tuesday, The Bungalow on Tuesday 7pm, The Keg on Wednesday at 8.30pm and The Inn on the Corner has an Open Mic on the last Tuesday of the month.
